At least 15 people lost their lives in a tragic accident in Manitoba, Canada, when a bus carrying elderly passengers collided with a truck near Carberry, about 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg. The bus was en route to a casino when the crash occurred.
Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill confirmed the fatalities and noted that ten others are hospitalized. Both drivers survived, but the cause of the accident remains unclear.
Images from the scene showed wrecked wheelchair seats and walking frames. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson expressed their condolences to the victims’ families and those injured.
